  • Download RoboForm unless you already have a form filler. Setup RoboForm or other form filler with the details that would be needed for registration. There is going to be a lot of form filling that you will need to do during the registration process to market research companies. RoboForm will save you many tedious hours during the registration process.
  • Sign up to to several research companies depending how much time do you have to make surveys and complete all the profiles that are needed. Join to as many of these market research companies as you can, or feel comfortable with: you will obviously increase your chances in receiving more surveys if you join up to as many market research companies as possible.
  • Bookmark (favourites for internet explorer) the survey sites you have joined to. Then save your login details from each survey site with RoboForm or other password manager or recording means.
  • The more information about yourself you provide to a research company, the more likely it is that they will contact you with online surveys. If profiles are options to be completed, consider doing so as you will increase your chances of receiving online surveys considerably and the more appropriate surveys you'll get.
  • Refer your friends to paid surveys as some survey sites pay either cash per referral or a portion of the money your friends earn after they have completed each and every survey.
  • If you provide poor quality responses, inconsistent answers, and complete surveys especially quickly, you may get blacklisted. The best way to avoid being blacklisted is to take your time when answering online surveys and provide honest answers when doing so. These simple measures should be enough to prevent most survey participants from being incorrectly labeled as an unsuitable survey panelist.
  • Be patient: You will get survey invitations and get to complete some eventually. You could expect 2-3 surveys (on average) per month from each market research company.
  • Keep this in mind: you Probably won't make enough money per year to replace your full-time income, but you might be able to supplement your full-time income quite nicely so you can work part-time instead.
  • Even if you are not in it for the money or prizes etc, and only want to voice your opinion, you could even donate your earnings or prizes to your favourite charity or good cause.

How do I increase my chances of receiving surveys?

Many people give up or become disheartened easily by the lack of market research assignments they receive from some companies, it could take a while before you receive a survey from some companies, because certain companies are targeted to certain people. However, others can send out survey invitations several times per week.

Many of the assignments you'll receive will have what they call a screener, a screener is usually a short series of questions to see if you qualify for the survey. One of the ways to avoid receiving too many screener surveys that are not relevant to your current situation is to keep your profile or details up to date. Your profile is usually a short questionnaire you fill out upon joining a survey company (not all survey companies have this, but most do). Keeping this information up to date is very important if you want to receive assignments that you have a chance of completing, and in most cases be rewarded for doing so.
